A starter

Since February 2012 I suffer from a bizarre eye disease called Acanthamoebe or Acanthamoeba. On the internet (with Google) you can find a lot of information, especially in technical "doctor language". Unfortunately, in my opinion, there are not enough stories about the patients themselves. In hospitals, they can make you believe anything, but the experience itself and undergo is something different. I did not think I could so collapse mentally. Therefore I try any fellow heartened to stay positive! So find contact, it helps me tremendously to overcome all this! It must be said: I am still a patient, probably for a long time.

Now I'm a few months further I try to keep a blog. It’s not only for acanthamoeba patients but also for anyone who is interested. In the beginning I wasn’t able to write because of pain and other conditions. The screen where I was "looking" at was simply too bright. Now it's getting a little better and I am slowly realize how bad luck I had. I don’t want to scare you, but unfortunately we all could this happen. Of course I wish this to nobody, not even my worst enemy ... Otherwise this blog is very handy. You can feel free to follow me and I don’t need to explain everything 80 times ...

First, a small few notes:

• names of doctors are all fictional! I  don’t want to embarrass doctors or other persons.
• other people who I call and don’t  want this, please let me know.  I will change it as soon as possible!
• this blog will not always be written in correct English. I am a dutch guy and will do the best I can. Unfortunately I can’t fully see what I type.
• I'm definitely not watching my language. So parents, children ... be warned!
• complain belongs to our culture. I will try to minimize this, although I hope for some understanding!

That’s it for now. Slowly but surely, my story will appear here. For now it is an open end ...
