Five doctors...
Friday, March 2 Maud and I went to the hospital with only 1 goal: Clarity! It's hard to imagine what it's like to live in a dark room for days. Especially if you live in uncertainty that is almost impossible to keep. I am still young and full of life and it's difficult to accept the situation. There must be something done!
Of course, the way to the hospital again quite dramatically. Though my sense of orientation is already properly trained. On the stairs in the hospital, I was overtaken by eight doctors. They seemed to be in a hurry. Their pagers warned me that something was coming. Once in the waiting room I immediately searched for a place to sit. I always chose a strategic place, so I hadn't a far walk to the surgery room. Meanwhile, Maud sign me in at the desk. Right on the spot where I wanted to sit was a man struck by a heart attack. This was the reason why we previously encountered by eight doctors. I didn't get that by and took place as if nothing had happened. Fortunately, Maud summoned me to sit somewhere else. It gave me a strange feeling because it happened in the opening of the room where I always was treated. Still I hope that guy is now in a good condition.
To my surprise, I was again called in by an assistant. She took the same tests with me. Again I had to read letters. Even the largest letter was unreadable. The letter was almost as big as a poster size, and only at a distance of more than 4 meters. Maud responded immediately: "Sijm, do as normal. You're kidding, right?" Unfortunately it wasn't a joke. The assistant was shocked: "Are you sure you can't do better?" Whereupon I asked, "At what percentage am I then?" The assistant said that I could see about 10%. I told her I thought it was because of the medication. She immediately questioned this theory and went personally to Dr. Moes
Dr. Moes was also very scared of the results. He did admit that he no longer knew what to do. Because of his strong conviction that I had herpes, he called another doctor. I still do not know what a doctor, but he also thought of a herpes. To be absolutely sure of his case dr. Moes sent me to the Eye Hospital. Maud and I were relieved that finally was recognized that I need some serious help.

On our way to the Eye Hospital, we were especially curious what we would find. Dr. Moes himself had made an appointment with the emergency department. Once there was a delay of over an hour to be. "Fortunately" I had code red and I needed to wait less than 10 minutes. We were welcomed by Dr. Eerl. He looked very young and inexperienced and it soon became apparent why. After eye tests, the same as earlier in the day, I told him that I suddenly could see something better. In the other hospital was told that I could see only 10%. He responded: "Sir, this is impossible. Here, just 100% visibility." Maud and I nearly fell of our chairs. "This really can not be true though." Then he walked to his supervisor with my file. They were in the room next to us and we can hear the conversation: "What do you mean 100% sight? You see here note 10%? His view is influenced by the drops that he got." Despite all the states Maud and I had much fun. These investigations supervisor came to me and she doubted directly to herpes. It was her idea to wait after the weekend and offer me to came back at Tuesday, March 6. I would then be viewed by a corneal specialist. Also, they took cotton swab with a kind of a culture off. This would then be examined for the laboratory.
So, we still knew nothing and disappointment prevailed. I did not expect that five eye-doctors couldn't figure out what exactly was wrong! The feeling that I could start again, was noticed very difficult.
That same day I visit the birthday of my brother. My mother, grandmother and my sister were pretty upset about the situation. We realize that all of this could be a very hard time.
Saturday 3 and Sunday, March 4 becam the situation worse again. For the first time I really feel pain. I can best describe the pain as someone who is pinning in your eye. Meanwhile, the light was unbearable and I couldn't see anything. All this together ensures that I can't even remember how I've overcome those three days.
I understand that it takes a long time before I give you clarity about my condition. I hope that I still can continue you to fascinate. If you are already experiencing the ambiguity long, try to imagine how that must have been for me ...My next blog called THE MEETING ...
